Australian Powerball has jackpotted to a record $100 million for this week draw number 1161 on Thursday 16 August 2018.
The previous highest Powerball jackpot in the lottery’s 22 year history was $80 million, which was equalled in last week’s draw that was not won. And if no one wins again this week, the jackpot will push even higher towards the Australian lottery record of $111 million in Oz Lotto.
“While we hope that next week is the week these lottery records are broken, it’s hard to know just how high the jackpot will go if the Powerball winning numbers don’t come up for Australian lottery players,” said spokesman for The Lott, Matt Hart.
To be in with a chance of winning the massive jackpot buy your Powerball tickets online from our trusted lottery partner.
Play Powerball and buy your tickets here – entries close Thursday night 6:45pm.
To win you need to have all seven winning numbers from the first barrel, plus also the Powerball number from the second barrel. If a single ticket wins this week’s draw, they will become the largest single lottery winner in Australian history.
So far this year the largest winning ticket in Powerball was in January when a mystery winner claimed the $55 million jackpot. Until now the largest single winner in the history of Australian lotteries was $70 million from Powerball in January 2016, which saw a man from Hervey Bay scoop the whole division one prize pool.
The other life-changing jackpot last week, the $70 million Oz Lotto, was won by two lucky players who will each receive $35 million.
